2015 Programme

2pm. The Gathering on Shoreham Village Recreation Ground. Refreshments, costumes, face-painting, garland making and music. Become a Sun God or Faerie Queen and please bring any instruments you play!

3pm. The Procession. From Shoreham Village Rec. down lanes & footpaths to the Quadrangle and led this year by the wondrous Grant Stimpson, a wandering trombone-playing entertainer, truly eccentric, hilarious and LOUD! A musical and theatrical procession for all the family. Music, art and surprises along the way, down lanes & footpaths, to the Quadrangle.

3.30 – 6.00pm. Discovery time in the Quadrangle meadow and grounds. Music workshops including drumming and singing, for adults and children. Painting and Clay ceramics. Slack-rope walking. Woodcraft sessions and watch out for the roving Honk Project with its musical storytelling sidecar.

5.00 – 5.30pm. Circus artists in the Main Barn.  My Aerial Home are a hugely talented troupe of aerial performers from South London, who contort and amaze on trapeze, silk, rope, hoops and mats, weaving visual tales of the seasons.

6.00 – 7.00pm. The Interlude. Delicious food and drink. Open Mic session in the Buskers Tent, graced by a huge range of talent last year (including The Voice contender Stephen Cornwell, recently picked by Will.i.am!) and this year to include none other than the Shoreham Village School Ukulele Band.

7pm – 8.30pm. Evening Concert with Richard Navarro. Evocative and uplifting, the music of Richard Navarro takes the folk traditions of melody and storytelling and supercharges them through live looping and improvisation. He will be performing for us in an acoustic set with his collaborator Nicholas Thurston on double bass. Richard’s songs have been described as ‘wondrously catchy’, combining ‘elements of folk and jazz with a sprinkling of magic to create an off-kilter mix of gorgeous weirdness.’ Richard is currently supporting Joan Armatrading on a UK tour while also touring with his own recently released album ‘Let Go Light’.

9.00pm. The Afterparty BarnDance with Fiddlefit. Fiddlefit are a marvellous duo bringing barn dancing to the next level, with Bill on guitar and vocals, Judith on fiddle.

General Tickets for all Workshops, Activities as well as Performances by My Aerial Home, The Honk Project, and Concerts for Richard Navarro and Fiddlefit, all for just £10. Children under 12 admitted free with an adult.
