CAKES, STRAWBERRIES, TEA AND COFFEE
THE BAR
We will be serving wine, Prosecco, Pimm’s, and a big choice of soft drinks, juices, teas and coffee as well as craft beers and ciders from local breweries such as the Old Dairy Brewery in Tenterden and Turners Cider from Tonbridge.
The Old Dairy Brewery, Tenterden
We are delighted to be serving cask beer from The Old Dairy Brewery. Their fantastic new brewery is nestled deep in the heart of the ‘Garden of England’ overlooking delightful rolling hills, but just off the High Street in the picturesque market town of Tenterden in Kent.
Their beers range from an extremely quaffable choice of regular cask and bottled beers; including their best bitter, Red Top and pale ale, Gold Top, to delicious seasonal and occasional brews, as well as some really challenging beers and interesting styles.
We have opted for two beers created especially for festivals and outdoor events, Summer Top and Uber Brew.
Summer Top is brewed with smooth Maris Otter malts balanced perfectly with distinctive Cascade hops for a delicious citrusy flavour, the perfect summer beer to refresh you on a warm summer’s day. Light, golden and very drinkable. Enjoy chilled.
To complement this we will also have Uber Brew, a 3.8% beer bursting with hops, extremely clean-drinking Hoppy Pale Ale with a strong floral aroma. It is full-bodied and full-flavoured yet gentle enough to make it a stunning session beer. Citra, Chinook and Equinox hops. It won Bronze – SIBA South East Awards 2017 (Cask standard bitters and pale ales).
Turners Cider
Turners Cider is a family business based in the village of Marden, in the Weald of Kent. They make a range of craft ciders in the ‘Eastern counties’ style, from only dessert and culinary apples. All their apples are grown in and around the village, in the orchards on the south-facing ridge below the Greensand Way and in the flood basin of the River Beult. Much of their fruit is grown organically.
They select each type of apple for its flavour, using many traditional varieties like Cox, Worcester, Bramley and Russet. The apples are picked from the tree when they’re at their peak in the autumn. The different apple varieties are pressed and fermented separately over the winter months, creating a range of base ciders. But just as every English summer is different, so are each year’s ciders. So the best job of all comes in the spring when Turners carefully taste and blend them to get the right balance of flavours. The result is a range of clean, light and refreshing ciders with a balance of sweetness and acidity. They’re perfect for summer drinking, for thirst-quenching, as an aperitif and with many types of food.
We will be serving two ciders at the Festival:
Apple Pie Cider 4% (seasonal)
Flavoured with spices and sweetened with fresh apple juice. Equally delicious hot or cold.
Elderflower Cider 5.5%
Still, fruity and floral, naturally sweetened with elderflower syrup. Unfiltered and very popular! *Silver Medal at the British Cider Championships, Royal Bath & West Show, 2017*
